I need my fitness tracker to work 24×7 so that it can tell me where I need to improve to get my target fitness level, but with a fitness tracker like Fitbit Surge, I just can’t wear it to office or during travel !! It looks odd to wear it on office fit 🙁 .. but with introduction of the all new Fitbit Blaze which is blend of Style & function, I am happy to wear it after my fitness exercise, till office end, giving me perfect 24×7 fitness partner, suggesting me where to improve upon and cheering up when I achieve my target 🙂
I know the Blaze don’t have built-in-GPS function, but maybe built-in-GPS in Fitbit Surge is important for a hardcore athletic person, freeing up to carry smartphone alongwith while running exercise, but for a person like me where I use the same watch as office wear as well as sports wear, and always carry my mobile phone alongwith, Blaze works perfect (remember it also lasts long since the tracker battery is not sucked by the GPS system running in the background) So I just connect Blaze to my watch & get going …. I am sure if you have similar lifestyle, you will agree with me !
For those who don’t have time to go into depth of each and every function, I have prepared a simple specs & feature comparison table, showing main differences in Green, Orange colors, so in minimum time you will be able to decide which fitness tracker you wish to go for. Also I have added dynamic best buy price function, so that you need not goto each link on Amazon to check the latest price 🙂

What’s so great in the Fitbit Blaze ?
- The most famous App Fitstar
Needless to say one of the best thing that Fitbit has it its powerful App which records & analyzes your activities, which is most important if you really care for the outcome of fitness activities you do for. - Silent Alarm
Happiest person with silent alarm is my wife 😛 .. since most of the time alarm wakes my wife rather than me, silent alarm has resolved this concern ! - Battery Life
Blaze lasts good life of around 5-days, in comparison although Surge claims 7 days battery life, it obviously drains our faster if you use it with built-in-GPS.
Luckily both of them can get-back-to-life within an hours of charge cycle 🙂 - Display
With Blaze you get all new 1.66-inch, 240 x 180 LCD colour touchscreen, with crystal clear sharp and crisp color display, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection it makes an attractive proposition compared to expensive smartwatches in market today.
Display Notifications
Both trackers supports notifications, with Blaze added Calender alert function, although both are not compatile with WhatsApp or Facebook, to me that is not important at all ! Who cares the thousands of messages during workouts ? - Connectivity
WiFi connectivity, Compatible with Android, iOs, Windows, Mac - Why the Women & Girls like Blaze ?
Considering need to wear Blaze at office & occasions, specially for women, Fitbit has come-out with awesome options of 12 colors interchangeable bands, I am sure girls would love it. - Smart-track
Both Surge & Blaze features, Auto tracking system, to recognize & record runs, rides, walks etc, which means you need not select what you are doing, and things are taken care of by smart systems inside watch, great feature indeed for a lazy person like me ! - Connected-GPS vs Built-in-GPS
Honestly I like connected GPS, since I always carry my mobile with me ! as well as watch battery lasts longer than having its own GPS system. So Blaze needs to take help from mobile GPS system whereas Surge stands on its own, so you have to decide if you really go for a workout without your phone !! - Waterproof ?
Both Surge & Blaze are not made for Swimming, they can just sustain splashes & light rain showers.
So what’s the final call Blaze or Surge ?
if you ask me, Surge don’t have any attractive proposition except the built-in GPS, but then if at all you are interested into built-in-GPS check for Garmin Forerunner 230
As said earlier for Office going men & women, Blaze provides perfect fashion accessory at much lower price, showing your fitness interest to friends through display of watch as well as Social connect.
