Further to my last post on comparing Apple Airpods with BeatsX , I also said that there is more cheaper option than BeatsX  which is Trablab X2.

At the time of writing this post Treblab X2 are $125 Cheaper than Apple Airpods ! Wow !! that’s huge savings indeed !!

The reason behind searching for alternates is simple, I keep on loosing my earbuds now and then ! so for me its costly affair to loose Apple Airpods ! But I liked the way they are designed .. truly wireless .. both earbuds not connected to each other at all …. So in the search of similar designs I found the Treblab X2 precisely similar design approach … truly wireless ..

Design Approach

Although Apple was the first one to introduce this unique concept of independent earbuds without any wired connection as well as having intelligence to identify which one is in ear, Treblab X2 also follows the concept on similar lines, they also claim to be made from Beryllium which is normally used in top Hi-end & Pro audio devices (Beryllium is an element produced from cosmic ray interactions)

Looks wise Airpods feature more smoother curves whereas Treblab X2 are more like true cylindrical without any fillets over.

If you look at the earbuds, treblab has smaller earbuds which shall fit inside the ear canal giving passive noise cancellation well, airpods are slightly lacking in this area due to its bigger earbud size (also many users have complained about loosing the airpods during use, even in the air travels where no great movement is expected)

Ergonomics and ease of operation

Apple has tried to give something out of the world by eliminating the control buttons, all you have to do it tapping on your pod to Pause, Play, Invoke Siri etc. But what this means is gaining some expertise on how to control the airpods, for someone it may become pain in the ass.

I liked the Treblab X2 in the aspect of control buttons, they are more traditional and reachable, actable easily and no super learning curve necessary for a layman.

Further the Treblab X2 features X-Drop ear fins which ensures a snug fit giving you passive noise cancellation during calls. Such find are completely absent in airpods, making it more prone to falls not only during exercise but also during normal use.

Sound Quality

When it comes to the sound quality, Apple has their own patented W1 Chip, delivering crystal clear sound … tuned to be listened quiet … if you are outdoors many times you will need to pump up volumes …

In terms of microphone performance, specially on outdoor calls, AirPods perform excellent.

Treblab X2 delivers quite punchy bass with crisp vocals, it covers mids in good way though, so when you are outdoor you need not worry about ambient noises, just pump up some bass through …

Music Playtime

One more thing Airpods provide you “Find my phone” app, using which via Bluetooth connection you wil be able to find earbuds (only in 33 feet range though)

So with similar design principal, Treblab X2 delivers More BASS, crunchy sound, less price, simple & functional buttons design ..till follow the trend of being truly wireless.

So no harm in trying not to be truly Apple .. go for TrebLab X2 ! try your luck !!
