I was looking at the top selling earbuds on Amazon and found a pair of earbuds from Letsfit which I felt are a Truly Affordable Truly Wireless earbuds. Why I say so since they are priced around $35 (as on 15 May 2019) and feature independent pair of earbuds, what I mean to say is that there is no wired connection in between the right and left earbud, so truly wireless.
Why I loved independent pair of earbuds from Letsfit?
While the market trend is to provide independent pair of earbuds, which allows you flexibility to wear them for a single person or while you are on travel, share it with your companion to watch the same movie. No wires means no entanglement at all, truly convenient.
Another advantage is that two people can use them separately too, so even if you miss to carry two separate headphone sets during travel with wife, you can share one D32 earbud with your wife so that she uses it independently. (this is called as mono mode by Letsfit)
And when you wear them simply feel the lightness of them, this is it where the technology scores over utility, both are combined to deliver perfect earbuds.
Lets look at who is Letsfit and what are the commitments? while I checked about Letsfit which is founded in year 2014 and grown big over years, the variety of headphones introduced are phenomenal in terms of quality improvements with each new introduction. While I talk of D32 in this review, they score whooping 4.5 star reviews from around 820 customers as on 15 May 2019, which is appreciable. (read other customer reviews) In short when you buy them it will be less worry about the quality of earbuds and quality of sound they deliver.
So lets look at what I felt after few days of use of these Bluetooth earbuds from Letsfit, and while you read the complete review you will be able to decide if really these are truly affordable earbuds for you, are $35 worth it?
Who should buy these earbuds? USER PROFILE
Looking at the specs like IPX5 waterproof rating, allowing you to use them during intense workouts.
Hads-free calling capability makes them suitable for use during driving.
Mono/Stereo mode makes it a best pair for sharing with friend (get one bud for you and share the other with your friend)
Or use it in mono mode while you cook so as to keep an eye over what the kids are doing in living room.
These small pair of earbuds are perfectly suitable for cycling, jogging, hiking, daily travel, home or office.
And finally for those who are really concerned about the budget, at $35 you can’t expect better package than this.
Letsfit D32 review
When I look at Letsfit D32 fit, finish and performance I get surprised by the work done by the engineering to deliver such small package with incremental improvements considering customer feedback and needs.
Best example of good specifications is using the latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology which has its own advantages like 8X Data Speed, 800 feet Range, Duel Audio (Read a detailed post on latest Bluetooth advantages on my blog-post – read here) the connection with your mobile will remain stable while allowing quick pairing.
Another thing that makes them cute is the micro battery pack optimized with use of low energy Bluetooth protocol giving longer music playtime.
While still the micro sized buds maintain the wearing comfort beyond expectations.
Design & Style
The design is simplistic or minimalist, what it means is that the small earbuds with Matt finish do not pop out indicating from a mile that you are wearing earbuds, its good and bad too! Some people like to flaunt that they are wearing earbuds, and some not. For me being subtle while wearing is preferable, so in office people do not notice me wearing them easily.
The case is designed to be carried in pocket, which makes them extremely useful for charging while not using, so they are ready as soon as you get them out from pocket. The super compact charging case is one of the good point of these earbuds.
Waterproof or water resistant?
The Letsfit D32 Earbuds are IPX5 certified, what it means to you? Are they waterproof or water resistant?
That simply means that the earbuds will sustain light showers and sweat without any trouble, so feel free to wear them for outdoor walk or jogging.
But surely you can’t use them during swimming or taking a shower! If you submerge them in water by any means you will have chance to get them back to life.
Ergonomics
Just read the name Letsfit which itself gives you an idea of Lets … Fit …. 🙂
So D32 model is designed to get a secure fit to your ears (and there are three pair of ear-tips to fit different ear canal sizes like small, medium and large)
For me it was medium size which went well and luckily the medium size were pre-installed by the company too 🙂 I think the medium size would go well with most of the people, but if not, you can try small or larger sized ear-tips.
But make sure that you select appropriate sized ear-tips, since that is going to give you Noise Isolation as well as a comfortable fit for wearing them a long time.
Controls
The controls are pretty intuitive and large for operation without even looking at them.
So these earbuds have a single large diameter button on outer face which allows easy finding of controls as well as operating them while you wear cold protection gloves during winter.
All you have to do is simply tap the button to change the volume, skip tracks or take / drop a call, really simple.
I think within 2-3 days of use you will be able to master these control buttons, its a matter of getting used to the new style, that’s it. I am sure you need not look at the micro sized printing of user manual on how to use these controls 😛
Sound Quality
Now coming to the most interesting part of my review, the sound quality. Basic reason for someone to buy a set of earbuds.
Letsfit D32 Bluetooth Earbuds are powered by about 6 mm diameter dynamic audio drivers that too includes a microphone!
So how come such small drivers from these tiny earbuds can deliver a high quality sound? Well I think the credit goes to the engineering of high quality audio-chip and driver software calibration producing phenomenal sound out of small drivers.
Obviously this do impose some limitation on performance of delivering thumping bass, but I think convenience of being smaller and lighter will have its own implications which you might be aware of. Anyway sound is a matter of subjectivity and many ifs and buts will be there from person to person. If you ask me, with these limitations I admire the tiny sized earbuds.
For a person like me who loves to listen to audio books or music to keep myself engaged and concentrated over my work, these D32 earbuds make a good choice in this price-point.
Bluetooth performance
As mentioned by me at the beginning of my review, these earbuds feature latest Bluetooth 5.0 technology and thus derive the basic advantages of this LE protocol of being fast, stable, longer range and many more.
The same is seen while you actually use these earbuds, while you connect them by keeping the mobile in pocket or in backpack, the connection remains moreover stable.
And compared to the old Bluetooth earbuds which used to break sound even when you move few feet apart, these earbuds surely perform well.
Battery life
One more point that impacts the buying decision of earbuds is the battery life. How much time the earbuds last in a single recharge?
First thing is that these earbuds do use Low Energy LE Bluetooth protocol which saves energy still maintaining a stable connection with your mobile phone.
Second thing is the improvements that are being poured in the battery technology in itself.
Both of these delivers about 3 to 4 hours of music playtime, which means you will be able to watch at least two movies in a go or listen to numerous songs while going to the office or in kitchen.
Nice thing is that when you put them back in the charging case they get back to life immediately, which means you can get around total music playtime of over 20 hours which is more than suffice for any of the longest flight! or even a weeks music for you. Simply charge the case once a week.
Again what it means is that the buds carry just more than enough charge which you actually need for, what I mean is that generally you will listen to music for an hour or so .. or watch a single movie which runs for max 1.5 hours .. after that you are going to put them back to the charging case. Anything over that will unnecessary overburden the earbuds in terms of size and weight.
So I will say Letsfit D32 are engineered optimally – balance of performance over weight over cost targets (again a minimalist design – just what you want for)
The charging case is provided with three small Blue color LEDs on the top edge, which indicates the battery charge status. In actual practice I even did not looked at them, I simply put them to case and pull for use, that’s it. Keep it simple.
Voice Call Quality
Another important thing in any earbuds is ability to perform telephonic conversations, mainly when you are outdoors .. in subway, tram, public places etc.
This is where two things work, first the microphone and second the noise isolation quality.
The noise cancellation (or isolation) works at a very basic level however I think it can be further improved.
Plus the microphone hardware in itself.
and third the physical isolation you get due to correct fit of ear-tips to your ear canals.
If you combine all together you get a descent call quality (although you can’t compare it with top notch BOSE headphones – but do not forget about the price you paid for)
Bottom Line
Please do keep in mind your budget versus expectations while you select any of the earbuds or headphones for you.
I travel frequently and hence would like to keep my budget tight, so that I do not worry about loosing them of!
So for a person having considerations of changing earbuds, getting them damaged at home due to kids, fear of loosing in travel these will be best suit. Spend less get more type.
The utility is further enhanced by use of super compact charging case which goes into the pocket or purse easily without occupying much space.
They fit well to most of the ear canal sizes, can be suitable for a brisk walk or jog or cycling.
So for a smart customer this will be the right choice, in the given price, all that you will get a pair of earbuds, a powerful charging case, descent sound and call quality.

But if you wish to use them for a FULL DAY then you can’t do it. It needs charging once in a half day (alternatively you can use one earbud and keep other in charging case, this way you can use them for continuous 20 hours) or if you are thinking of using it for frequent calling, then I think you better go for some special calling headphones (dedicated)
What improvements I expect from Letsfit in the upgrade of D32 earbuds?
Ergonomics improvement
The ear-tips provided with package are standard design. If you look at the market trend, everyone is using memory foam.
So I feel Letsfit can improve the ear-tips to memory foam which will improve the ear canal fit as well as the noise isolation levels for use in public places.
Sound Drivers
I expect that the current drivers of 6 mm can be further fine tuned for its performance by channelizing the baffles (I mean going more towards the infinite baffle concept of sound speakers) something similar to that you will see in BOSE speakers. Letsfit engineers can do some work in this area to keep the package tight still more meaningful.
Charging case
The charging case is provided with three LEDs to indicate the charge status, this approximates the charge status too much. The Letsfit engineers can simplify it by providing percentage battery indication like sown on mobile or add more LEDs or make the status available on connected mobile instrument. I mean they can do anything to provide more accurate estimation of battery charge status of case and buds.
CVC 6.0 for improved call quality
I can see lot of scope by introducing the CVC6.0 algorithm which will make the calls in noisy or windy environment much much better than ever. Things are already developed in market, all that the engineering has to do is negotiate the price and package.
Voice Assistant
The earbuds can have native voice assistant, however in my list this goes to the bottom-most and not a must feature but a good to have feature.
Hope if the Letsfit engineering team likes the suggestions, they may leave a comment as and when they keep adding above features to make their product world class.
