No matter what you do, which brand of headphones or earbuds you choose, I am sure they will keep on falling down and troubling you thinking I should have gone for the other brand.

How do you keep earbuds from falling out?

Why earbuds fall out of ears ? RCA (Root Cause Analysis)

Because they are designed to fit into standard average size of ear canals, and your ear canals may be either bigger or smaller size !

So if your ear canal size is bigger – headphones tent to slip out during exercise

If your ear canal size is smaller – headphones will not fit inside properly thus tend to fall out during exercise

One more factor that plays role into earbuds fitment is earwax ! Yes, it will built-up during time thus causing an issue in earbuds fitment !!

CM (Counter measures)

• Learn right way of putting earbuds
  Try squeezing the eartips before putting inside the ear canal, correct way to understand they are fitting right is feel of snug and secure! that’s the judgement ofcourse.
• Find the correct tip size
  Normally the earbuds are supplied with three types of eartips, small / medium / large
  Start trial with medium size earbuds, if it doesn’t fit, goto smaller one or large one depending upon the feel you will get for tight or loose fit with medium size of earbud
• Rubber versus foam tips
  There are two types of materials used for eartips, rubber or foam.. sometimes rubber works best for you and sometimes foam .. this will differ from person to person due to the complexity of ear canal … individuals do differ a lot . so if one material does not work, try the other alternate available in market
• Wrap them over your ear
  See in the image at beginning of our post, shows simple and inexpensive method to prevent earbuds falling out, no rocket science but simple common sense, wrap them around your ears and it will prevent them falling during running or exercise.
• Put winter cap!
  Yes, putting your winter cap over the headphones assist in holding them in proper place 🙂 again inexpensive trick to go for
• Buy accessories
  You can buy add-on ear hooks which will keep the earbuds in place
