The iPhone SE has a 4 inches screen (4 inches when measured diagonally). SE handset measures 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm weighing 113g. As against that it is said that iPhone SE 2 will have 4.2 inches screen, but the dimensions may slim down further, say Se 2 might be as thin as the iPhone 8 at 7.3 mm.

Further it may carry the glass back feature thus allowing wireless charging, the latest update, giving a look more like the all-glass iPhone 4.
The SE uses the Apple A9 chipset (and the iPhone 6S too), the new iPhone SE 2 will offer an A10 Fusion chip (as seen in the iPhone 7)
In addition it is predicted that 1.2Mp FaceTime camera in the current model will be replaced by a 5Mp or 7Mp FaceTime camera with Retina Flash.

- 12Mp camera: The current SE have a 12MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture. It might remain the same, since upgrading to iPhone 8 f/1.8 aperture will take high end sensors embedding in the package.
- Flat backface (no camera bump): Hopefully the new iPhone SE camera on the back of the iPhone will also be flat like the latest iPhone 8.
- 2GB RAM: The iPhone SE offers 2GB RAM and there looks to be no reason to get upgraded on this front.
- 32GB or 128GB storage options.
- Battery : The battery may get revived to 1,700mAh from 1,640mAh might be to power the slightly larger display (if that happens)

Will the iPhone SE be discontinued?
Many analysts have suggested that there won’t be a new iPhone SE at all !
In January 2018 Ming-Chi Kuo wrote a research note saying “Apple had used up its development resources” and would not be able to produce a new SE for the spring launch.
Also sometimes last year in July 2017 China’s Huaquang Research analyst Pan Juitang predicted that due to insufficient demand on smaller phones, Apple wouldn’t update its 4in phone. He said that the majority of consumers are going for the larger displays for watching movies, playing games and browsing the web, mostly 5 inches or bigger displays.
Looking at the number of models in pipeline and delays happening there is scope to believe that iPhone SE 2 launch will get delayed substantially !
