7 Things You Can Do With Apple Watch

With technology innovation and advancements, wearables have become smarter than ever. Your smartwatch can do more than what it used to be with previous releases – beyond health monitoring and tracking.

Apple Watch is your all-time fitness partner with an improved interface and enhanced features. Though the features have grown significantly, users are still unaware of the functions they can derive from their smartwatch.

Before moving on to the Apple Watch tips, tricks, and hacks, let’s check out what it can do for you.

  • Workout tracking
  • ECG readings
  • Heart rate monitoring
  • Turn-by-turn navigation
  • Fitness tracking (exercising, standing, and calories)
  • GPS tracking of workouts
  • Siri commands (alarms, timers, and reminders)
  • Tickets and boarding pass information
  • Displaying text messages
  • Notifications and updates

Let’s now explore the ways to make the most out of your Apple Watch.

Upgrade/Downgrade Operating System

To make sure that you are getting the best performance from your Apple Watch, update it regularly. Some features work best when the iPhone, Mac, and Apple Watch are running the latest version of their respective operating systems.

Though this is rare, some features may only work with the default operating system version. So, you might need to downgrade watchOS, iOS, or macOS on your Apple devices.

For example, you may need to search on how to remove monterey update if you are having difficulty connecting Apple Watch to Mac because the incompatibility stems from the OS on your computer.

Create Portrait Watch Face

Apple’s latest Portrait Watch Face feature works for users who tick several requisites. In order to use the feature, make sure that you own iPhone 7 Plus or later version, as these models have access to Portrait photos.

Your Apple Watch must run on watchOS 8 or a later version. Apple Watch models that are compatible and can use this feature include Apple Watch 3/4/5/6/7 as well as Apple Watch SE.

Adjust Multiple Watch Timers

One of the simple features that make a significant impact is the multiple watch timers that keep you track of different activities altogether. Setting up multiple timers on your smartwatch is easy; you need to open the app screen by pressing the Digital Crown.

Tap Timers and move throughout to see various different timers to select from. Select Custom to set a preferred time for each timer. Now, you can use each timer to track different tasks.

Share Photos via Messages or Mail

The major section of new features offered in the Apple Watch 8 is there to improve the way the gadget handles photos and the way they are utilized. The Photos app has been transformed hugely to simplify the way it is used to view and share images.

To share a picture from the Photos app, open the Photos app on Apple Watch and find the image you wish to share. Click on the Share button displayed on the right side of the screen, and it will display various sharing options. Select the one you want to use to share the image.

Unlock iPhone While Wearing Mask

With watchOS 7.4 installed on your Apple Watch, you can use it to unlock your iPhone even when your mask is on. It allows you to bypass Face ID and Passcode but works only when you are wearing a mask.

To unlock the iPhone from Apple Watch while you are wearing the mask, go to Settings on iPhone, click Face ID and Passcode, and tap to turn on the feature Unlock with Apple Watch and accept the warning. Make sure not to use it for a longer duration as it may pose a security threat to the device and data.

Clear Notification on Apple Watch

If you feel that your watch is overburdened with notifications, clean your recent history immediately. Swipe down from the top of the watch screen to view the chronological list and remove the recent history.

To clear the notifications, long-press the screen and then tap Clear All. You can also manage notifications on Apple Watch, so try to keep them minimum so that they won’t consume battery and make your watch slow.

Set the Alarm for Everything

Simplify things by setting the alarm and keeping pace with all the scheduled activities. Important to know that anything you set on your smartwatch will come through on your iPhone. And if you silence the alarm or notification on Apple Watch, it will be set to silent on iPhone too.

To set the alarm on Apple Watch models, open the Alarms app on the watch and tap Add Alarm. Adjust the Digital Crown, tap on the minute section and adjust it as required. Next, tap AM or PM to adjust the time of the day and click Apply to add it to the list of alarms. You can also hide or delete an alarm on the Apple Watch.
